"I Love Nanaimo! It is by far, the best place I've lived and shared that sentiment with friends all the time. Let's spark the magic once again that may have dulled a bit and bring back our community pride and spirit. Let's explore the ways we can involve our amazing people in achieving this and other goals." Provide REAL $'s numbers when initiating projects and disclose where the funding is being drawn from in the budget.
-
Collaboration - reach out to other communities that have already made these decisions or are considering them and review their notes and information
-
More research - find out who just might be a "Hidden" expert in the areas being discussed.
-
Re-Establish community committees that can hone through discussing the issues of upcoming measures and legislation

They can discuss the pros and cons, the civic and community implications, then provide their collective recommendations to Council to save council time

Provide articles of information in the media and/or the website - “Here’s What’s Happened in Council this Week”
