• Freedom to Vote on Council how we want to represent the community

• Freedom to say "NO" to motions that don't make sense or are not a priority

OPEN Information - BETTER Information - BETTER Research​

• Provide the community a monthly summary of motions that were passed on the City's website.

• Provide REAL $'s numbers when initiating projects and disclose where the funding is being drawn from in the budget.

• Collaboration - reach out to other communities that have already made these decisions or are considering them and review their notes and information

• More research - find out who just might be a "Hidden" expert in the areas being discussed.

• Re-Establish community committees that can hone through discussing the issues of upcoming measures and legislation

  • They can discuss the pros and cons, the civic and community implications, then provide their collective recommendations to Council to save council time

Let's have Public Involvement

• Provide articles of information in the media and/or the website - “Here’s What’s Happened in Council this Week”

• Go out in the Public and hold Council Meetings that are closer  to the public

• Let's encourage our RCMP to bring back the Auxiliary RCMP Program

• It's a volunteer group of individuals that train with and assist the RCMP ​on their regular and special event duties

• Have them establish a presence in problem areas

• Have them work with VIU Tourism Program students and create ambassadors to host tourists in the downtown and other areas/events
